Local Teens Can Explore Careers in Medicine

NORMAN, OK - Parents of teens and young adults, ages 14-21, are invited to attend an open house that will introduce families to the Norman Regional Hospital Health Explorer Post, 901. At this event the public can learn about Exploring, enjoy interactive healthcare activities and meet the Post Advisors: Dr. Patrick Cody, Dr. Angela Carrick, Dr. Olivia Reed, Kyle Hurley, Gail Grego, Paula Price and JoAnn Belknap.

The open house is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 31 at the Norman Regional Education Center, 901 N. Porter Avenue.

The Explorer post program is part of the Boy Scouts of America and is a career-based mentorship program that provides teens and young adults with hands-on experience in health careers. The program also provides opportunities such as:

  • Leadership development
  • Character development
  • Social and professional networking
  • Community and civic service
  • OU 2017 Home Football Games Stretcher Team
